Production Management role, manufacture and supply to enable more sustainable farming

Due to a rapid growth strategy and increasing business success, there is a need to hire a new Production Manager. The Production Manager’s primary responsibility is to provide day to day leadership to the operational part of the business and its people in accordance with the strategic objectives of the organisation including safety, customer service, people management and business performance This will include coordination of production and logistics operations to ensure that customer needs are reliably met, the business has the capability and capacity to safely meet future growth and that the businesses quality, efficiency and effectiveness are continually improving. This role will regularly also include hands-on involvement in the production and logistics areas as required. Proven experience as a hands-on Production Manager, or similar role, in a production or industrial setting. Mining or Quarry Background Required. Key Responsibilities: An uncompromising focus on safe and reliable operations, sustainability, and operational excellence On time delivery of orders to customers Identifying opportunities to optimise operational performance, ensuring production throughput and quality targets are achieved Compliance to third party requirements such as council, industry and government entities, including environmental compliance Assist in the development of budgets, operational plans and objectives and operational KPI’s Identifying and evaluating improvement opportunities and assist in preparation of capital projects Utilise and optimise fit for purpose production and inventory planning and tracking system Hands-on involvement in the manufacturing, inventory, and logistics parts of the business Manage inventory to within maximum levels, planning for future needs and minimising excess stock while ensuring that stock is always available Develop policies when required and manage the review process for existing Operations policies and procedures Take the lead in coordinating all areas of the operations to effect operational efficiency and ensure that strong relationships are built and maintained between departments to achieve this Experience and qualifications Proven experience as a hands-on Production Manager or similar role. Mining or Quarry Background Required Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of operational personnel Strong technical background and a mechanical trade qualification or degree would be welcome Strong technical knowledge and understanding of maintenance principles, practices, and equipment reliability well regarded Experience in an environment with trucks and heavy equipment such as excavators and industrial manufacturing process equipment would be well regarded Proficient computer skills, including experience with maintenance management processes and software This is privately held business with a practical can-do approach to business.
